17-year old militia proof that Armed Forces of the Philippines recruits minors for combat duty

Army sergeant being held as prisoner-of-war by New People's Army

By RIGOBERTO F. SANCHEZ
Spokesperson, Merardo Arce Command
NPA Southern Mindanao Regional Operational Command

The cat is finally out of the bag. Now it can be said without any shade of public doubt. That in its failed and defeated Operation Plan Bantay Laya II, the 10th Infantry Division of the Armed Forces of the Philippines recruits and arms minors as combat pawns in its war against the people and the revolutionary forces. That what it accuses the people's army of doing turns out to be a matter of official policy in its ranks, long practiced in their counter-revolutionary theater.

What better proof than Juve Latiban (SN # CT-G09000182) of the paramilitary Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU), a 17-year-old minor. As a combatant of the AFP and their paramilitary forces, he was arrested at a checkpoint put up by the Conrado Heredia Command of the New People's Army in sitio Mabatas, Barangay Upper Ulip, Monkayo, Compostela Valley Province on June 19.

The revolutionary movement in Mindanao will further advance under Noynoy Aquino’s term

The revolutionary movement advanced under the US-Arroyo regime, will further advance under Noynoy Aquino's term

By JORGE "Ka Oris" MADLOS
Spokesperson, NDFP-Mindanao

The US-Arroyo regime will go down in history as the most corrupt and one of the more unpopular regimes our country ever had, owing this distinction much on scandalously enriching itself while pushing the Filipino people down to worst poverty levels.

Like all other fascist regimes before it, its National Internal Security Plan (NISP) code named Oplan Bantay Laya, is responsible for the deaths of more than a thousand who fell victim to extra-judicial killings and whose brutal military campaigns and operations have committed the most brazen of human rights violations in recent history, and caused the dislocation of millions of people.

Achieve great unprecedented strides in revolutionary struggle under the new US-Aquino regime

By Communist Party of the Philippines

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) joins the Filipino people in marking the eve of the stepping down of the US-Arroyo regime, which ruled the Philippines for nine and a half years with sheer brutality, corruption and subservience to foreign interests. At the same time, the CPP reiterates the need to persist along the path of revolutionary struggle and achieve great strides in advancing people's war through the next several years of the new US-Aquino regime.

The Filipino people are absolutely glad to see Gloria Arroyo step down from her throne. They earnestly look forward to waging struggles to ensure that Arroyo will be prosecuted and punished for her crimes of wanton plunder and large-scale corruption and crimes against humanity in the course of the brutal war she waged against urban and rural activists and the masses in revolutionary areas.

I wish to convey most heartfelt condolences to the family and close comrades of Ka Beato Lacaba. I share your deep sense of loss as I am aware of his long dedicated service to the Filipino people, especially among his colleagues and friends in the field of science and technology. I owe to Ka Beato a special debt of gratitude in his capacity as sales manager of Aklat ng Bayan for playing a key role in publishing and distributing my books.

We are all consoled and gratified that he lived a life full of meaning and accomplishment in the people's struggle for national liberation and democracy. He had been an activist of the national democratic movement since his student days. After he graduated with the degree of mechanical engineer, he was employed by an engineering firm in Marikina where he helped arouse, organize and mobilize the workers and his fellow engineers.

CPP reiterates demand for AFP to surface revolutionary leader Prudencio Calubid et al, 4 years after

By CPP Information Bureau

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) today reiterated the demand for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to surface Prudencio Calubid, his wife and other companions who were abducted by armed military agents exactly four years ago. A member of the CPP Central Committee, leading officer of the New People's Army (NPA) and consultant of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) in the peace negotiations, Calubid and his companions were abducted on June 26, 2006 along Quirino highway, near Sipocot, Camarines Sur.

Calubid was with his wife Celina Palma, niece Gloria Soco, staff Ariel Belo and Antonio Lacno aboard a vehicle on their way to Bicol. At around 8 p.m., their vehicle was waylaid by a convoy of five vehicles. They were taken at gunpoint and brought to an unidentified military safehouse. For two days, Calubid and his companions underwent severe torture in the hands of their fascist military captors.

Armed Forces of the Philippines is a key political tool of reactionaries — CPP

Contrary to Gen. Bangit's crap, Armed Forces of the Philippines is a key political tool of reactionaries — Communist Party of the Philippines

By CPP Information Bureau

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) dismissed the farewell speech yesterday of outgoing Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff Gen. Delfin Bangit as "full of crap." Contrary to General Bangit's claims of AFP neutrality, the CPP said that the puppet reactionary military organization has always served as the most powerful political tool of the ruling reactionary political clique and the entire set of reactionary ruling classes.

General Bangit, whose retirement took effect yesterday had earlier intended to remain until his mandatory retirement in July 2011 but was compelled to do so after incoming President Benigno Aquino III made it clear that "The Emperor," as the outgoing president's favorite general is called by his bootlickers, will be definitely be replaced as AFP chief of staff.

New People’s Army punishes abusive police in Cateel, Davao Oriental; 3 killed, 5 wounded

No NPA casualty in 18 June tactical offensive

By DYOMABUK KADYAWAN
Spokesperson, Antonio Nerio Antao Command
NPA Southern Mindanao

Fascist deception really knows no bounds. This fact is once again proven in the latest spin about casualties of the New People's Army that the 10th Infantry Division of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (10th ID-AFP) and the Philippine National Police Regional Office XI (PRO XI) have fed the media in a concerted attempt to conceal their mounting losses and failure to contain the revolutionary armed struggle.

The 10th ID-AFP and the PRO-XI, as if on cue, mouthed similar yarns about NPA casualties following the successful punitive action last Friday by the NPA's Antonio Nerio Antao Command-Front 15 Operations Command against the abusive 1105th Police Mobile Group-PNP in Sitio Dao, Brgy. Poblacion, Cateel, Davao Oriental.

Current concerns and prospects regarding the Aquino Regime

Interview with Prof. JOSE MARIA SISON
Founding Chairman, Communist Party of the Philippines
Chief Political Consultant, National Democratic Front of the Philippines

By Ang Bayan

1. Could you describe in brief the conduct and results of the past reactionary elections? How would you describe the electoral victory of Benigno Aquino III? What was the role in this of the US imperialists (and other key forces) and how would this affect the incoming Aquino regime?

Jose Maria Sison: As a whole, the 2010 elections were dominated by the political leaders, candidates, parties and coalitions of the local exploiting classes of big compradors and landlords. The US had a direct control over the automated electoral system and made sure that Noynoy Aquino was elected president through electronic pre-programming. The biggest US and local businessmen in the Makati Business Club provided huge campaign funds for him. As a consequence, the Aquino regime will serve the interest of the US and the local big comprador-landlords rather than the interest of the Filipino people.

The on-going US-Arroyo regime’s last-minute massive military offensives are futile — NDFP

By JORGE "Ka Oris" MADLOS
Spokesperson, NDFP – Mindanao

The US-Arroyo Regime is launching a massive offensive military operation in Mindanao and the whole country in its futile final attempt to make "big scores" to add to its military "achievements" and make it appear that the objective of its rehashed Oplan Bantay Laya II from the failed Oplan Bantay Laya I is successful against the advancing revolutionary movement.

It wishes also to reduce the frequency of the intensified tactical offensives of the New People's Army and pre-empt more tactical offensives towards the run-up of the closure of the US-Arroyo Regime and its Oplan Bantay Laya II and the inauguration of the new administration come 30 June.
