Three children detained by Philippine military are civilians, not NPA members

NDFP – Northeastern Mindanao

AFP’s 401st Brigade is a great fabricator! Three children are civilians, not NPA!

The mercenary Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is getting more desperate in their quest to conceal ghastly actions and at the same time besmirch the honorable reputation of the New People’s Army (NPA) and the revolutionary movement, and are fabricating stories of victories in the face of constant losses.

Col. Romeo Gan, commanding officer of the 401st Brigade, and Major Eugenio Julio Osias IV, spokesperson of the 4th Infantry Division, GROSSLY LIED when they proclaimed to the media that the three children from Brgy. Pong-on, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur that they captured were members of the NPA.

Benigno Aquino III bound to be swept away by the Filipino people in coming years

Communist Party of the Philippines

The rapid fall in Aquino’s popularity shows that the stark realities of poverty, mass unemployment and hunger have exposed Aquino’s chicanery and illusions of reform to the Filipino people.

As the Aquino regime marks its first year in power, the Filipino people notch another year of continuing hardship, worsening poverty and intensifying oppression under an increasingly repressive regime. They are confronted by a deepening crisis brought about by the Aquino regime’s pursuit of the same antipeople and pro-imperialist policies of the past puppet regimes.

The Aquino regime has thoroughly dashed the hopes of those who expected a break from the past Arroyo regime’s corruption, puppetry and repression. They are dismayed at Aquino’s failure to take decisive measures to prosecute and punish Arroyo and her retinue of plunderous officials. With the rise of the “Kamag-anak, Kaklase, Kaibigan at Kalaro Inc.” (Relatives, Classmates, Friends and Playmates, Inc.) — his herd of favored friends and relatives who are increasingly involved in questionable appointments and anomalous transactions — Aquino is now proving himself to be not much different in terms of his Marcos-type cronyism.

Philippine military using Samar “peace” council to rubber-stamp intensified militarization

By NDFP Eastern Visayas

The military is using SIPPAD to rubber-stamp Oplan Bayanihan

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines – Eastern Visayas said today the 8th Infantry Division (of the Armed Forces of the Philippines) is using the Samar Island Partnership for Peace and Development to rubber-stamp the national security program Oplan Bayanihan. “The military has long exerted undue influence on SIPPAD,” said Fr. Santiago Salas, NDFP-EV spokesperson.

“But the Church-backed multi-sectoral assembly is now making a very dangerous mistake in rubber-stamping the 8th ID’s so-called road projects under Oplan Bayanihan that pretend to have the good signboard of “peace and development.” In fact, Oplan Bayanihan is no different from Oplan Bantay Laya in pursuing the purely military solution to the armed conflict as well as eschewing human rights and international humanitarian law. Soliciting the support of civilian agencies and non-governmental organizations is part of the strategy and tactics of Oplan Bayanihan to camouflage the continuing climate of impunity for violations of human rights and international humanitarian law.”

61st Infantry Battalion is haunted by ghosts of its own crimes against the people

Jose Percival Estocada, Jr. Command
NPA-Central Panay

Around 9 o’clock in the evening of June 12, 2011, angry civilians fired at the 61st IB troops staying at the covered gym of Barangay Roosevelt, Tapaz, Capiz. Cpl. Pagurayan was hit in the thigh with shotgun pellets. The terrified reactionary troops fired armalites and machine guns into the direction of houses in the barangay for almost 20 minutes.

Residents in several intermediate and upland barangays in Tapaz have long been complaining of the military’s occupation of their gyms or multipurpose halls in the center of the barangay and making use of civilians as human shields against the military’s enemies. But the 61st IB has turned a deaf ear to these complaints and insists on staying in the barangay centers as part of their program to control the population under the US-Aquino regime’s Oplan Bayanihan.
