The National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) conveys its warmest greetings of solidarity to the heroic Basque people on the great occasion of their POPULAR GENERAL MOBILIZATION IN BILBAO on 12 January 2013.
The NDFP and the revolutionary Filipino people firmly support the slogans of this popular general mobilization, namely. HUMAN RIGHTS, SOLUTION, PEACE.
The NDFP is one with the Basque people in vigorously declaring their demands to the Spanish and French states:
- Basque prisoners and refugees to the Basque Country
- Release prisoners who are sick
- End measures of extension that cause lengthening of sentences
The NDFP and revolutionary Filipino people are waging a revolutionary struggle for national and social liberation against US imperialism and the local reactionaries led by Benigno Aquino III.
The US-Aquino regime violates the human rights of the Filipino people through extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, torture, mass displacements while carrying out the US – dictated program of repression. In doing so, the Aquino regime has unjustly kept in prison more than 400 political prisoners.
The NDFP calls for the immediate and unconditional release of these political prisoners who are charged with trumped-up common crimes in violation of a peace agreement signed in 1998, the Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHRIHL).
We are in firm solidarity with the Basque people and their supporters in the Basque Country and in the international community as they militantly wage their just struggles for national self-determination, human rights and an enduring peace based on justice.
Our militant best wishes for a victorious popular general mobilization in Bilbao on January 12th!
In fraternal solidarity,
