The National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) renders high honors to Carlos Padolina who served the people for some thirty years until he died in a tragic motorcycle accident a few days ago. We convey our heartfelt condolences to his wife Luchie, his sons, Christian Carlo and Enrico Carlo, his parents, family, colleagues and friends.
Ka Caloy Padolina was a dedicated and firm advocate of children’s rights. He made many children aware of their meaningful role in society. To the children, he was their beloved Tito Caloy. He helped children form their collectives, and taught them to act not only for their interests but for the interests of the country.
He was active in the Children’s Rehabilitation Center and SALINLAHI. For decades, he was also active in disaster preparedness and response work with the Citizens’ Disaster Response Center (CDRC). In September 2016 he joined the Department of Social Welfare and Development. He became the DSWD Climate Adaptation and Mitigation deputy program director.
The NDFP deeply mourns the death of Ka Caloy Padolina. We render honor to him for his many years of dedicated service to the children and the entire Filipino people. May his noble memory inspire others to serve the people.
