Appointment of Palparan to national security post signifies escalation of human rights violations

FIDEL V. AGCAOILI
Chairperson, NDFP Human Rights Committee

The appointment yesterday of Major General Jovito Palparan as deputy national security adviser is a clear proof that the extrajudicial killings and abduction of legal activists are state policy under the Arroyo regime. Thus, these are committed with impunity.

I was in solitary confinement in 1984 — Jose Maria Sison

By Professor JOSE MARIA SISON
NDFP Chief Political Consultant

By fabricating stories like the one about the so-called Leyte mass grave, the Arroyo regime and its military and police minions demonstrate their extreme desperation at trying to draw attention away from their culpability for the extrajudicial killing of 745 unarmed people, the abduction of more than 180 others and other gross human rights violations since 2001.

How can Gloria Arroyo face the international community with blood on her hands?

LUIS G. JALANDONI
Chairperson, NDFP Negotiating Panel

How can Arroyo face the international community, with her hands covered with the blood of hundreds of victims of political killings? When the cries for justice of the families, friends and organizations of the 745 victims of extrajudicial killings hound her? When the families, friends and organizations of 185 victims of enforced disappearances and the survivors of more than 200 frustrated killings, their families, friends and organizations, in their anguish and sorrow cry out for solidarity from the international community?

NDFP condemns Arroyo Regime and General Esperon for inventing lies against Jalandoni and Sison

FIDEL V. AGCAOILI
Chairperson, NDFP Human Rights Committee

Esperon lies brazenly when he claims that Jalandoni and Sison were co-signers of an order to kill 300 suspected spies and bury them in mass graves in southern Leyte in the 1980s. Since the late 1970s, Jalandoni had been a political refugee in The Netherlands. Sison had been under maximum military detention from 1977 to 1986. After his release in 1986, he taught for six months in the University of the Philippines and left for abroad to carry out a lecture tour in Asia-Pacific and European universities.

NDFP Human Rights Committee spurns Arroyo-created Commission

By FIDEL V. AGCAOILI
Chairperson, NDFP Human Rights Committee

The so-called independent commission created by Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to investigate the extra-judicial killings and abduction of legal activists and suspected revolutionaries and make recommendations is nothing but a whitewashing machine for the Arroyo regime, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP) and their death squads. It is another vicious psywar device to besmirch the memory of the victims and blame the revolutionary movement for the crimes, as already being maliciously done by Task Force Usig.

By LUIS G. JALANDONI

We welcome Amnesty International’s 15 August 2006 report on the Philippines, “Political Killings, Human Rights and the Peace Process”, which condemns the dastardly murder of progressive and leftist activists in the Philippines. We also take note of the recommendations of Amnesty International for the US-backed Arroyo regime to respect human rights, ensure the administration of justice and to comply with the 1998 GRP-NDFP Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHRIHL).

Bagman of the ruling couple is faking persecution by the NPA

By Professor JOSE MARIA SISON
NDFP Chief Political Consultant

Everyone knows that former undersecretary of agriculture Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante is running away from the findings of the Philippine Senate that he is the key operator in the malversation of the so-called fertilizer fund amounting to 2.8 billion pesos and the rechanneling of these for vote-buying in the 2004 presidential elections and for the personal enrichment of Gloria M. Arroyo and Mike Arroyo.

Arroyo regime is trying to terrorize the people and justify assaults on unarmed demonstrators

By Professor JOSE MARIA SISON
NDFP Chief Political Consultant

By recycling the old lie that I instead of Marcos masterminded the 1971 Plaza Miranda and by repeatedly claiming for so many days already that the New People’s Army (NPA) is poised to infiltrate and attack anti-Arroyo rallies, the Arroyo regime and its military and police minions are trying to terrorize the people and frighten them from joining the demonstrations on the day that Gloria M. Arroyo delivers another mendacious state-of-the-nation address (SONA).
