On Talaingod, Civil War and Peace Talks

Speech delivered before community leaders of the United Methodist Church and BAYAN-USA

By LUIS G. JALANDONI
Chairperson, NDFP Negotiating Panel

Good evening, Friends and Kababayan, Community and Faith leaders of the United Methodist Church, and members of mass organizations of BAYAN.

I extend warmest greetings to the great indigenous people of Talaingod, Davao del Norte, for their persistent fighting spirit, opposing the landgrabbing of Alcantara and Sons since the 1990s and up to now, and their resistance to destructive mining. They are now subjected to the most brutal militarization causing their renewed uprooting. They indeed deserve our strong solidarity.

NDFP proposes people’s issues for peace talks, demands compliance with JASIG, other agreements

By LUIS G. JALANDONI
Chairperson, NDFP Negotiating Panel
Member, NDFP National Executive Committee

Secretary Deles wishes to avoid the Aquino regime’s obligation to comply with binding peace agreements which the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP/GPH) signed with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP). Her lame excuse is to call compliance with the 1995 Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantees (JASIG) as mere “procedural matters”.

On the lies dished out by the AFP against the Tiamzons

Communist Party of the Philippines

Over the past few days, the spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Philippines has been doing the rounds of the media, spending most of the day in radio and media interviews, to justify their arrest and continued incarceration of comrades Benito Tiamzon and Wilma Austria, peace consultants of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines and senior leaders of the Communist Party of the Philippines. The AFP has resorted to dishing out one concocted story after another against the Tiamzons and against the revolutionary movement.

In the spirit of fair-reporting, we hope that the big media organizations will give space to the views of the CPP and report on the other side of the truth.

Aquino risks leaving legacy of killing peace talks – NDFP

By LUIS G. JALANDONI
Chairperson, NDFP Negotiating Panel

The Royal Norwegian Government (RNG) and peace advocates declare support for the willingness of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) to hold informal peace talks with the Aquino government (GPH).
