The burning up of a Dole-Stanfilco-owned boomspray unit in Allah Valley Area in South Cotabato on 6 October 2014 is a punitive action meted out by the New People’s Army – Far South Mindanao against the multinational giant Itochu-Dole.

The operation that was effectively executed by operatives of the Julito Banda Command – Front 73 (JBC-F73) was carried out in a Dole-Stanfilco banana plantation in sitio El Bantong, Barangay Rang-ay, Banga, South Cotabato. It took place at early evening, the plantation’s spraying schedule.

NPA supports opposition to Sierra Madre Dam Projects, vows to launch tactical offensives

The officers and Red fighters of the Rosemarie Lodronio Rosal Command (RLRC-NPA-Mt Sierra Madre-Southern Tagalog Sub-Regional Command) support the people’s opposition to Sierra Madre Dam Projects.

The two dam projects — Kaliwa Dam and Laiban Dam — would tap water from Agos River in the Sierra Madre mountain ranges supposedly to supply potable water to Metro Manila. These projects are being hailed by the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) as the New Centennial Water Source Projects under the Public-Private Partnership Program, with a projected budget of PhP88 billion (Kaliwa Dam, PhP23 billion; Laiban Dam, PhP65 billion).

Kitanglad Sub-regional Command launched a punitive action against the multinational plantation company Sumitomo Fruits (SUMIFRU) in Barangay (village) Barobo, Valencia City, Bukidnon, 18 January, around 10:00 PM. The Red fighters seized two firearms during the incident.
