US, Malacañang should answer for Mamasapano Disaster — NDFP peace consultants

By Detained NDFP Consultants
Submitted 30 January 2015

Benigno S. Aquino III has been, as usual, very glib (but obviously very evasive) in trying hard to explain the mystery of where the command and responsibility were for the operations of the Special Action Force (SAF) contingent that terribly failed and suffered a big number of its casualties (44 SAF forces killed) in its Mamasapano, Maguindanao operations last January 25. CBCP as peace talks mediator is presumptuous – Sison

Interview with Jose Maria Sison on Bishop Villegas’ “peace mediator” message

By Roselle Valerio
Liberation International

It is gratuitous, if not extremely presumptuous, for the CBCP to imagine that it can ever become a mediator in the GPH-NDFP peace negotiations. What the NDFP has welcomed is the role of religious leaders as peace advocates who serve as moral bridge builders and promoters of the peace negotiations. Thus, the NDFP has always appreciated the work of Catholic bishops and other religious leaders in the Philippine Ecumenical Peace Platform (PEPP), the Ecumenical Bishops Forum on Peace, and the like.

On Justice Guariña’s “Economic Nationalism: Voices from the Past”

By ALAN JAZMINES
Member, NDFP Reciprocal Working Committe on Socio-Economic Reforms

The very well-written article Economic Nationalism: Voices from the Past (Commentary, Philippine Daily Inquirer, 24 September 2014) was for me quite refreshing, considering that it was surprisingly written by a former high court official, retired Court of Appeals Associate Justice Mario Guariña III.

The article itself is a rarity at this time of the profligacy and dominance of neoliberalism in policy, word and rule in the country.
