The NDFP Northeast Mindanao (NDFP-NEMR) regrets to inform the relatives and friends, the Third Party Facilitators and the general public that the release on 17 January 2015 of the three (3) Prisoners of War, namely PO1 Jorie M. Amper, PO3 Democrito B. Polvorosa, and PO1 Marichel U. Contemplo, negotiated between the National Democratic Front of the Philippines and the emissaries of Department of Interior and Local Government (of the Manila government), is cancelled due chiefly to the refusal of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to temporarily withdraw their COPD operatives from the area.

The New People’s Army Guerrilla Front 33 under the Compostela Valley – North Davao – South Agusan Subregional Command raided the compound of the Sumitomo Fruits Corp. (Sumifru) and captured Cpl. Benjamin Enot Samano (serial no. 833269), 37, and Pfc. Alvin Ricarte (serial no. 901744), 23, who are members of the 60th Infantry Battalion in New Corrella, Davao del Norte, on 2 December 2014, at 3:45am to 4:00am.

NPA to release 2 Bukidnon POWs; SOMO-SOPO demanded

The New People’s Army in North Central Mindanao Region expresses its willingness to release the two prisoners of war (POWs) in Bukidnon as soon as possible, in accordance to a directive from the National Democratic Front of the Philippines. The two will no longer be subjected to the normal process of investigation and the revolutionary judicial process as a gesture of goodwill and sincerity from the revolutionary movement, in its hope for the resumption of peace talks between the NDFP and the government of the Philippines (GPH), and due to humanitarian considerations for the POWs and their families.

5-day local ceasefire ends; NDFP-Mindanao thanks all for safe release of Alegria POWs

The five-day ceasefire declared by the National Democratic Front of the Philippines – North Eastern Mindanao Region (NDFP-NEMR), which began 12:00 of 27 July 2014, covering six (6) towns of Agusan del Norte and three (3) of Surigao del Norte, ends today, 01 August 2014, at noontime. The said ceasefire has been called for to provide the safe and orderly release of the four Philippine National Police prisoners of war (POW) who have been under the custody of the New People’s Army as a result of the successful raid on the Alegria police headquarters on 10 July 2014.

It has come to the attention of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines in the North East Mindanao Region (NDFP-NEMR) that the Government of the Philippines (GPH) has expressed its intention to grant the request of the families of the four Prisoners of War (POW) under the custody of the New People’s Army (NPA) and the Third Party facilitators for the temporary cessation of military operations in order to allow the safe release of said four POWs.
